After accumulating 26 years of experience working for a multinational conglomerate corporation, Jim joined Waddell & Reed, Inc. in April of 2004. Jim effectively uses this background to provide his clients with thorough guidance for planning and managing their personal finances. In his approach, Jim believes proper asset allocation is essential not only for pursuing his clients’ individual goals, but also for delivering the best experience possible to his clients.*
As a Financial Advisor, Jim understands his role in the client-advisor relationship and that communication is key to pursuing the clients’ overall financial ambitions. He makes certain to his clients that his top priority is listening to and recognizing their specific needs and interests, and Jim does so by making himself available and promoting a comfortable environment to discuss all client concerns. After developing a strategy with his clients that takes into account all aspects of their personal financial situation, Jim then implements the plan and continues to oversee the investments so that they are representative of the current strategy of the client.
Raised in a farming community in North Dakota, Jim started out in Agriculture, but he ultimately followed his passion and moved to the world of financial management. Jim has a combined 34 years working in financial services industry and has been licensed to sell securities since 1998. Since joining Waddell & Reed, Jim has been named to the Circle of Champions from 2006-2011, and was awarded the Advisor Medalist Program Gold Level in 2012.**
Jim currently resides in Memphis with his wife of over 38 years, Katie. Together, they share a son and daughter in addition to two grandchildren and spend as much time as possible with them. Jim also enjoys baseball, jet skiing, and auto-racing. In his community, Jim is involved with Tennessee Outreach and is a committed member of the local First Responders unit.
